Projects
A selection of my work from GeekMom, social work writings, personal projects, video presentation, a symposium presentation, and a program developed for JQY. Topics range but all share a clear voice, passion for my subject, and mastery of knowledge.
2022-2023 - I surveyed the field of Jewish educators on college campuses to understand how prepared they felt to work with engaged couples where one or both partners had experienced trauma. I developed a 4-part curriculum to ground them in trauma-informed care, including when to refer out and how trauma histories may intersect with halachic and practical concerns when preparing people for marriage.
August 2021 - I developed a program to educate our clients, clinicians, and community leaders about family building options for queer people in the Orthodox world. Panelists addressed financial concerns, practical considerations, legal implications, and relevant Jewish law to over 100 attendees. The recorded panel is now available as a professional resource on the JQY (Jewish Queer Youth) website.
April 2021 -The final speaker in the group addressing Experiences of Trauma & Trauma-Informed Care, this is a case presentation of a Modern Orthodox Jewish client struggling with her sexual self-schema. Presented at the 2021 Widener University Graduate Student Research Symposium Presenter, Center for Human Sexuality Studies.
March 2021 - Instagram Live interview with cartoonist Chari Pere about our 2019 comic and experiences creating, writing, and dealing with loss and grief. Interview conducted by Aimee Friedman Baron of I Was Supposed To Have A Baby, a non-profit focused on Jewish fertility support.
